Inscription: CAVE CANEM
Cave Canem is translated as “Beware of the Dog”. The dog and the Latin phrase can still be seen in mosaic on the entrance hall floor of a house in the Roman city of Pompeii. The mosaic dog in Pompeii is depicted as a rather savage looking dog. Here we have made him friendly. This tile design is a humorous version of the traditional warning but still alerts strangers to the presence of a dog. The frost proof tile can be fixed to an outdoor wall or gate-post.
Fixing Points: Two holes: located on each side of the tile
Dimensions: 10.2cm x 9.2cm
