Lucky Cat - Maneki Neko mounted on blue card

This is the Beckoning Cat who is from Japan, and is known as the Maneki Neko. He greets you with a wave of his left paw and welcomes good fortune into your home or business. We like to think of him as the lucky Cat. This story originated in the 17th century during the Edo period in Japan. While it sounds like a myth or a legend, the people in it were real and the places where it happened are still there today. This tile was created to accompany the launch of a book, Tama the Cat in October 2008, written by Robert Ogden and beautifully illustrated by Julia Preston. To purchase the book contact Robert Ogden from the Web Address www.robertogden.com/tama

Fixing Points: There is a slot cut into the back of the cat's head (not visible from the front)

Dimensions: 8cm x 10.3cm
